One of the summer programs sponsored by the Tokyo Church Women's Union, was a favorite, with 4 Japanese women kimono experts who brought gorgeous kimonos for women and wedding garb for men. So several of us volunteers, were expertly dressed as an explanation was given to the audience. It was great fun, with cameras flashing to remember the moment.
The two men's wedding garb, with John and Higuchi-san, are examples of a more formal outfit, and then an informal wedding suit.
The silk kimonos are beautiful and very expensive. I had to really hold my breath, as the various belts, and obi was placed around my middle. The kimonos look much better on these small Japanese women!!!
