Sayonara !

In many ways, it hardly seems like 4 months that we entered the new world of the Japanese people! And now it is time for “Sayonara” here, and Hello” back in Michigan.

After experiencing the pulse of Tokyo and its environs, --the life and vitality of this city --observing the many things about a culture that is different than our own….., it is the people that we will remember….. We’ve made new friendships not only with Japanese, but also with people from all over the world. Like our experience in Paris, our eyes have been open to the richness of coming to know people from so many backgrounds and nations. And we have had the extra blessing of worshipping and fellowshipping with those who are a part of the family of God……to experience here the rich variety of worship traditions, here at Tokyo Union Church and also the American Church in Paris. My world view has been expanded and challenged. And so we thank God for giving us this opportunity abroad, as well as the joy of returning home to family and friends.

On our last Sunday here, John offered these remarks:

"We gave you ourselves from our hearts. You received us warmly and returned our affection. We will remember you forever, and hold you in our hearts in the years to come. Go with God and remember us too. Thank you for all you have come to mean to us."

And I offer you my benediction and prayer:

May the love, peace, and joy of Christ continue to bind us together until we meet again!

私達が再度会うまで5月キリストの愛、平和および喜びは私達を一緒に結合し続ける!
